Welcome to our neighborhood!

University Oaks is a vibrant and diverse neighborhood located in the heart of Houston, located between the University of Houston main campus and Brays Bayou. The neighborhood was first platted in 1939 on land formerly owned by Ben Taub. Our residents represent a wide variety of professions and backgrounds, and many people have lived here for generations.  We hold Civic Club meetings and publish a community newsletter monthly during the months of September through May.  The neighborhood residents also organize several social events each year, including our May Breakfast on the Bayou, a Halloween block party for kids and adults, and a holiday luminary event.
